Kahului is the largest community on the island of Maui and lies on the north shore of the central region of the island.  Home to the island’s primary airport, Kahului International, a deep-draft harbor, light industrial areas, and commercial shopping centers, Kahului is one of a few neighborhoods where several apartment complexes are located.  Maui rentals are typically quite hard to come by given the severe lack of such properties on the island.  However, apartments in the heart of Kahului are often times the cheapest and most convenient places to live temporarily, especially for people on a budget or people living alone.

A nice, but oftentimes more expensive, alternative to an apartment is the use of a Maui vacation home.  Typically nestled on the slopes of Haleakala or along the shores of Lahaina, Hana, or Kihei, these vacation homes offer all of the amenities of a regular home as well as beautiful views and typically convenient access to the island’s spectacular beaches.  Most vacation homes are also near to big-box retailers, making shopping a breeze.  Maui has Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and several other national-brand stores.  A plethora of grocery and convenience stores line the streets of major residential areas.

If you feel like having a more private and serene getaway, you may want to rent out a condo vacation rental. Many of these condos are just as luxurious as any hotel, yet also come fully equipped with kitchens, living rooms, and often spectacular ocean views. Many of Maui’s famous resort communities are home not only to hotels, but also these beautiful vacation condos, as well as excellent dining and shopping attractions and great golf courses. Many of these condos range from one to three bedrooms, and often offer great vacation packages and specials. However, it is important to book early because many of these vacation condos are booked year-round.

One of the many beautiful condos you can check out are the condos at the Polo Beach Club in Wailea. These oceanfront condos are either high-rise buildings or garden type complexes, complete with pools, jacuzzis, tennis courts, as well as snorkeling, scuba diving, boating, kayaking, and golfing, which are activities available nearby. Another beautiful vacation condo to consider are the Punahoa Vacation Rentals, located in Kihei. Although it is one of the earlier built condos, with only 15 units, the building is situated near its own sand cove located just off the condo’s lawn. The small, private cove is the excellent place to swim, snorkel, and sunbath. Also located nearby are Charlie Young Beach and Kamaole Beach Parks. Many great shops and restaurants are located nearby.
